The Upper World is a Young Adult contemporary scifi novel.

The Upper World follows class-clown Esso, who has stumbled into a postcode beef and then receives an unexpected gift: the ability to see glimpses of the past and the future. Fifteen years later, football prodigy Rhia is more desperate than ever to find a way back to the parents she never got to meet. When Esso and Rhia’s fates finally collide, a race against the clock becomes a race against time itself.

More than anything, this book simply shows how teenagers live their lives – worrying about things like crushes, exams and if they remembered to put deodorant on that morning! But there are deeper, mortal struggles at play too – with Esso and Rhia having to enter a new dimension before they can see a future worth fighting for.
